‘Life in Colour’ 2023
“Life in Colour,” a joint exhibition with painter Rosy Lloyd, is a celebration of life in Sydney. The show balances a mix of landscapes, eclectic still lives and lived experiences all explored with a focus on vibrant and precise tones.
‘A Place to Return’
Set in the beautiful, historic Balmain Watch House, A Place To Return is a group exhibition of the work of emerging artists Deidre Fitzpatrick, Janet Cheetham and Melissa Drew.
This body of work captures the beauty and energy of both local and faraway landscapes that resonate in the artists’ lives. The local harbour foreshore, surrounding tranquil bushlands and places travelled further afield offer a window through which to view lived experiences.
Created during the upheaval of Covid-19 and the slow return to normalcy in its aftermath, A Place to Return reveals the reflections of the artists on this exceptional time. They observe the subtle changes in the landscapes that surrounded them during the restricted period, and places they were able to eventually visit again. The techniques and approaches are connected by expressive use of colour and emotive interpretations of a moment in time.
